Dawn M. Gelston is a primary school teacher and qualified journalist. She has just returned to live in the UK after living in Dubai for a few years. Throughout her teaching career, she has taught hundreds of children in Ireland, Scotland, England and the United Arab Emirates. Dawn has experience working with children from various backgrounds. She is passionate about teaching emotional health and wellbeing, describing it as paramount in educating children growing up today. Dawn pays tribute to the children she has taught over the years, who she describes as the most unique, inspiring and supportive young adults she has been privileged to meet and educate. She looks forward to visiting schools from September to share her writing journey and give some writing hints and tips to young, aspiring authors.

Felicity Flipflops is Dawn’s debut novel and is a story of how empathy, encouragement and friendship can positively impact children’s lives. Underpinned with humour and a touch of emotional wellbeing, the book will appeal to children aged between 8 and 12 years old and can be enjoyed by all the family.
